“As a 17-year-old high school girl, I couldn’t love volunteering any more than I do. The environment is fun and the friends and mentor figures I have met have changed my life. Every time a child gets on a horse, the joy is great to see.  It’s safe and fun and rewarding coming and spending time at the farm. Ms. Sherri is an amazing woman and has true passion for the program. She is out here every Saturday morning with a positive attitude, ready to do her favorite thing. The farm and program is amazing. I love everything about it.”

There are many opportunities to volunteer at Compassionate Friends.

We are always in need of volunteers to sidewalk in our equine assisted program.  This involves walking beside the horse and student and providing physical assistance.  We need three volunteers for most of our students. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.  No horse experience is necessary.

There are some volunteers who choose to do general farm chores such as painting fences, maintaining the fields, grooming the horses or cleaning stalls or tack. This volunteer time must be scheduled with Sherri Briggs, the program director and owner.

If volunteering at Compassionate Friends is something you would be interested in, please complete the volunteer forms and contact us to schedule your volunteer time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
